Förbättrad manuell styrning av staplingskran

Detta examensarbete är utfört hos Swisslog under våren 2013. De hade problem med den manuella styrningen av deras pallstaplingskran för höglager, som upplevdes ryckig och svår att kontrollera vid låga hastigheter.Huvudsyftet var att undersöka varför detta fenomen uppstod och hur det kunde lösas med både hård- och mjukvarumässiga metoder. Utöver detta undersöktes hur produktionskostnaden, för delarna av kranen som rör den manuella styrningen, kunde reduceras.Det upplevda fenomenet är känt som biodynamic feedthrough. Det innebär att konstruktionens acceleration matas genom operatörens kropp och skapar en återkoppling till styrdonet, i detta fall en joystick. Operatörens hand ger en oavsiktlig störsignal som gör systemet instabilt som i sin tur skapar en oscillation som ökar i amplitud och är svår eller omöjlig att stoppa.Den föreslagna lösningen är att digitalt lågpassfiltrera styrsignalen från joysticken.

Implementering av en PSS i Trängslets kraftstation

The purpose of this master thesis is to implement and validate a Power System Stabilizer (PSS) to a generator at Trängslet hydropower station in Dalarna, Sweden. Problems with local rotor oscillations can occur at the hydropower station when power is transferred on a new power line (130 kV) from Northern to Southern part of Dalarna. To ensure good operation properties on this power line Fortum Generation AB and Fortum Distribution AB wants to activate a PSS on a generator.There have been investigations in which situations and what equipment that contributes to rotor oscillations. When this is known the PSS is tuned to damp these oscillations by choosing a good set of parameters. The most important parameters for good performance are to choose amount of gain and phase compensation.

Thoroughbred racehorses have suffered from exercise-induced haemorrhage for over 300 years. Almost all competing horses develop exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH) at some point but most horses don?t suffer from reduced competing capacity due to the disease. The cause of the exercise-induced haemorrhage is unknown. The most believed theory today is that EIPH is induced by pulmonary stress failure caused by pressure over 100 mmHg in the pulmonary arteries during exercise.

Skiascopy, also called retinoscopy, is a method for determining the refractive power of the eye. There are only a few, old studies made on equine refraction. The aim of this study was to investigate the refractive power in a population of Swedish horses. The study consists of a review of relevant studies done on animals and an experimental part where the refractive power of 93 horses of different age, breed and usage was examined. A pilot study of 12 horses was performed regarding the importance of cycloplegia when doing skiascopy on horses. The results of the pilot study show no significant difference in the skiascopy results between the group before and after cycloplegia were induced. Consequently, there is no need of inducing cycloplegia before doing skiascopy in adult horses. The study shows that horses usually were emmetropic (normally sighted) with minor deviations toward myopia or hyperopia.

Evaluation of lameness has proven to be very subjective and depends on the examiner. There is a need to evaluate ridden horses in an objective way.

The purpose of the study was to investigate, through an experiment, if positive mood promotes creativity and flexible thinking. Participants were a total of 93 college students. The main hypothesis was that subjects induced with positive mood would perform better than subjects induced with negative mood, at a test reflecting creativity. To further explore the implications of priming (subliminal manipulated moods), a neutral control group was included. The cognitive test used in the study was Duncker´s The Candle Problem, a test which aims to get the subjects to apply flexible and creative thinking.

Background: According to the Swedish Social Board induced abortions are increasing in the modern day society. Nurses who work with in the gynecological department can come across patients seeking care for an induced abortion.Theoretical framework: The findings of the study will be discussed in relation to Peplau's nursing theory, ethical concepts and nursing concepts.Aim: The aim of the literature review was to illuminate the experiences of nurses working with induced abortion.Method: A systematic literature review with an inductive approach was chosen. The findings are based on seven qualitative and two quantitative studies. The articles were assessed through two different modified templates based on qualitative or quantitative design.Findings: Nurses and midwives experienced their work with induced abortions as emotionally stressful. However, it was highlighted that all women have the right whether to choose abortion or to proceed with the pregnancy.

För att kunna bli pilot i kommersiell luftfart är första steget att utbilda sig. En pilotutbildning måste föregås av en medicinsk undersökning för att garantera en tillräckligt god fysisk hälsa hos den blivande piloten. Många utbildare kräver också att en person som vill utbilda sig till pilot genomgår en psykologisk lämplighetsprövning, i syfte att få en indikation på dennes personliga förutsättningar i övrigt för en lyckad utbildning och karriär inom pilotyrket. När utbildningen är genomförd är piloten redo för att se sig om efter arbete men den senaste tidens allmänna nedgång i flygbranschen har gjort det allt svårare för piloter att få anställning. Detta arbete har syftat till att ge en inblick i bakgrunden till den typ av lämplighetsprövning som genomförs inför utbildning, hur sådana prövningar värderas av arbetsgivare i branschen samt vad som i övrigt enligt arbetsgivare avgör om en pilot är aktuell för anställning..

Ett steg närmare Just-in-Time : En studie av JIT-försörjning vid GGP Sweden AB

This study looks into the possibility, and profitability, of expanding a pilot project that has been put into action at GGP Sweden AB in Tranås, a manufacturing company that produces front mowers. The pilot project is meant to give GGP Sweden AB a more precise control of the flow of goods from their suppliers, and its essence has proven to be quite similar to the Japanese Just-in-Time philosophy.The study has been divided into four separate areas; mapping, supplier selection, supplier evaluation and cost analysis. These areas represent a holistic perspective on the expansion of the pilot project and cover topics varying from methods of finding suitable JIT-suppliers, constructing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to reviewing costs and assessing profitabilities.In this report, the reader will initially take part in the works of mapping GGP?s manufacturing unit, pilot project and supplier base, which results in a list containing the most suitable suppliers for a Just-in-Time based collaboration. Afterwards, the reader will be led into the area of supplier evaluation, where five KPI?s are created with the purpose of ensuring that GGP will be able to evaluate their suppliers and pilot project in an effective way.
